Subject: 4.7 AC Recharge Question

Message:
Which is the low pressure and which is the high pressure?

I am recharging this weekend and don't want to blow the can in my hand by hooking up the the wrong one.

Also, any instructions by someone who has done this would help. I want to use this in addition to that on the can.

Thanks in advance!

Low pressure is the larger line, high is small.

Charge by weight is the best way. There is a sticker under the hood that gives the system capacity. Got a good scale, accutate to an OZ?

If not, you need a pressure/temp chart; charge to the pressure shown for the ambient temperature.

I just did it last weekend.

Pretty simple, I had one of those kits with a gauge and a cracker. Now I'm blowing cold!

Have an additional question just to be on the safe side.

So the fitting I plug into is the one nearest the compressor right?

I see two lines coming out. One (smaller) which wraps around the front of the radiator and seems to come back and have a fitting right next to the washer fluid.

And two (larger) which goes by the air filter and runs towards the firewall.

So the low pressure one is the one that goes to the fire wall by the air filter?
