I have tighten the gas cap up to more than 3
clicks, but shouldn't I be getting a code like
P0442 for the loose gas cap? There are no
codes whatsoever. I am thinking there are
some advanced codes not readable by
ordinary OBD readers!!!

Mohmd.. was your vehicle scanned at the dealer or autozone? Im not sure if there is any difference in their readers, but try to dealer if you havent already.

Back to the subject at hand, the light
happened to go off by itself and then back on
again on the next startup.
I will give dealer a try. Someone told me that I
could also have a faulty PCM!!!

Most of the time that light is an emissions related problem, if its not a wear item like a spark plug you may well be covered by federal emissions warranty. Ask about it if dealer tries to charge you.

I have the same problem and no its not the gas cap I cant get a read out and i own my own ODB-2 The only 3 things that Ive not changed is the PCM - knock sensor & EGR Valve My Guess is the computer Module because I'm not getting the read out I'll let you guys know

I had the same problem recently and I believe all it was was a metal band clamp was making contact with the metal casing of my PCM messing with the ground or something. I moved the clamp so it was no longer making contact and the light went off.

I am currently having this problem. So, I'm really curious to
know what problem you all have had. My motor is the .3.9 V6.
My main fuse box was damaged from an accident and was
taped up. Not sure if that could be the problem. I recently
inherited the truck after the death of my son.
