Subject: 3 DTC's, 0138, 1757, 1762 Any help? IP: Logged
Message: My 2000 CC V6 is a pile! It's throwing these 3 codes:
P0138
P1757
P1762
The check-engine light is on (goes on and off all the time).
And, just started today, the tranny won't shift into 1st. Even
if I select 1st on th column, it goes in 2nd. WTF?
How can I fix this?
Thanks much,

Message: Bummer. Quite a list
P0138-1/2:
O2 Sensor Shorted to voltage
When Monitored:
With battery voltage greater than 10.4 volts, engine running bfor more than 4 minutes and coolant temperature greater than 180 F.
Possible Causes:
Intermittant Condition
O2 Sensor Operation
O2 Sensor signal shorted to voltage
O2 Sensor signal circuit shorted to O2 heater relay output circuit
O2 Sensor signal open
O2 Sensor Ground circuit open
PCM
P1757: Governor pressure above 3psi in gear with 0 MPH
When Monitored :
Continuously with key on andengine running
Set Condition:
This code will set when Governor pressure sensor output is >3psi when requested pressure is 0 psi with Gov Press solenoid duty cycle at 95% for 2.65 seconds. Two trips of two consecutive bad 2.65 second tests are required to set code.
Possible causes:
20 listed. Will send on request. Too much to type right now.
P1762: Also a governor pressure sensor problem.
Gov pressuer sensor offset volts too low or high.
Set condition:
This code will set if the governor pressure is out of range in park or neutral for 1.3 seconds for 3 consecutive bad 3 second tests and sump temp >50 F and < 260 F are required to set code.
Possible causes. Too many to list now.
Will send on request.
The troubleshooting test for the last two codes are quite extensive.
It may be dealer time.

Message: wow, thanks for the info.
Yeah, I figure i could replace the 02 sensor for the 0138,
but the other two are probably outta my range. Hopefully
the warranty covers such failures.
Could the last two codes be the reason my truck won't shift
into 1st gear?
Thanks again!
