Subject: What to do... IP: Logged
Message: Okay i have a 2001 Quad Cab. I just bought it about 2 months ago. I would like to get some ideas on what to do to the truck. Money is kind of tight so i can't go all out yet but i'd like to start off and do some small stuff. I'd show you a pic but i don't have my own website right now to show it to you. If you want a pic e-mail me at NicIsKewl@aol.com. I'm already doing a system, but i want to do some things to the exterior before it gets a little cold. I was thinking about getting a rhino bed liner put in which is a costly investment but it's worth it from what i've heard. Just let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks.

Message: It depends on where you want to go with the truck (i.e., show/work/speed/offroad/etc.).
What I did to mine (so far) is replace the cassette player with a Chrysler CD/cassette player I found on eBay. Yes, you can get "better" units, but the Chrysler unit fit perfectly in the dash, it wasn't that expensive, and now I can play my CDs. It's loud enough for me. I also put on a Line-X bedliner that matched my paint color. That was $100 extra for the color match, but it really looks nice (and it is functional too!). I also added a camper shell and tow package for "weekend warrior" type stuff. I also added a heavy duty rack on the camper shell to haul things that won't fit in the short bed of my quad cab. I put in thick floor mats to protect it.
Later (as money is always tight with kids around), I will add the Roadmaster Active Suspension and the bigger mirrors. After that (and more money) I will add a Safari bar with off-road lights, and maybe put in those clear head/corner lights and carbon tail lights. That last set is quite a ways in the future.
As for engine modifications, I moved up from a 4-cylinder Nissan, so the V8 power is more than enough for me.

Message: More detail about the truck is required. What year? What engine? Is it a 2 wheel drive or a 4 wheel drive? etc

Message: First off, i moved up from a 4 cyl. pontiac sunfire to this. So what if i have a V6. I could afford the V8, but driving a half an hour every day to work and back, gas would be to costly.
I already replaced the head unit with a Sony Xploid head unit. I took out the original factory speakers and put in 4 6 1/2" pioneer 4-way speakers. I'm in the process of getting a kicker solarbaric l5 sub and an amp. This project will be completed in the next couple of weeks. I'd like to also put rails on the truck along with putting in a new catback system.
It's a 2001 Quad cab sport, 4X4, 5-speed, 3.9 V6. It also has a tow package.
