Subject: Buying blocks...need info. IP: Logged
Message: My dakota is now lowerd 3/5 and I am wanting to convert to 5/7. I need 2 in. blocks and want to know what is the cheapest place to get the blocks and u-bolts at. I was looking into some steel blocks but I want to know you guys opinions on what's better...Steel Blocks? or Aluminum Blocks?...I've heard that they are bad about cracking.

Message: I've got 4" steel blocks, and haven't had any problems yet. All i can suggest is that you get the pinion angle blocks, so you keep the pinion angle perfect.
I got my 4" blocks for $25 (new) from a guy i know. So i'm sure you can find some good ones for cheep.

Message: I have two 2inch blocks that I used on my truck for like 30k miles - they are metal/steel/aluminum,,,not sure, but no problems. I just returned my truck to stock height. I have the hangers for either size axle you have (8 1/4, or 9 1/4). I'll sell'm for $25 plus, whatever it costs to ship'm if you're interested.

Message: Sorry bout that - Just the lowering blocks themselves, and the U-bolts that go over the axel and secure them in place.
My truck is an '01 CC 4.7. I have the 9 1/4 rear,,,they mistakenly sent the 8 1/4 u-bolts,,,so now I have both.
These aren't new hangers,,,just the blocks, and U-bolts to fit. Will lower the rear 2 inches.
drop me an email at zenophon999@yahoo.com if you're interested. I never use that one,,so it may help to post here so I'll remember to check it.

Message: i picked mine up at the local advance auto cuz it's the closest. Any truck place may have them because they can also raise the truck ya know.
check around, some people sell blocks for 50 bucks, don't pay that when they're like half that down the street.
