a buddy of mine works at a dodge dealership and they arent in there. isnt it a new body style? the above mentioned friend said they are phasing out the 5.9 and the dakota will be available with a hemi . thats just what ive heard....

No dramatic body changes....but there will be a special run of 5.7 HEMI Daks later in 04!
05 Daks will be changed. Will get the HYDRO-FORM frame which means LIGHTWEIGHT!! 3.7,4.7,5.7

2005 Dakotas will also be getting a face lift, and redesign. I'm not sure I care for what the look they have in mind, but if they offer late model 04's with Hemi's then I'm going to jump on one. I like the way dakotas look right now too much to wait.

I went to Dodge.com and built an 04 Dak. No 3.7, still offering the 3.9. Maybe it will come along after the 3.9's are all used up?

I just bought the last 03 R/T available in Can
ada because the dealer told me that there will be NO MORE R/T's in 2004. In '05 they will be called FORCE with the the new HEMI. I paid $43,000 for my new R/T two days ago Canadian.
BUT I got electric powered seats with real leather. WHOOooo.

Forgot to mention THERE WILL BE NO MORE 5.9's available starting with the 2004 model year.They have been phased out and replaced by the HEMI which will be available in 2004 on the Durango and Dodge RAM models.I have already driven a HEMI
RAM on the F-1 course in Montreal 2 weeks ago and I am not overly impressed. I am pretty sure my R/T is faster and as far as the handling is concerned (VS.) FOGETTABOUTIT.

Arent the 04 durangos supposed to be a full size SUV now? I have a 98 Dak/5spd/318 with no posi (ouch!). I did want a R/T, but for the same price I could get a RC Hemi ram that apparently runs the 1/4 mile in 15 flat. Then I decided to save my money for a RC 4.7/5SPD since they run as fast as stock R/Ts--Is that true? Finally I just assume keep mine and rebuild the 318 or build a 408 stroker. But hey, if there going to put the HEMI in the Dakotas, I guess I will wait till then. I just hope they look better than the Durangos.

Dropped off my truck at dealer for new carpet and rear pinion seal. They had a couple of 04`s so I checked em out a little. They look the same, Sport Plus now has chrome grill. My 03 has one cat, these had two, right after each manifold. Both had 02 sensors and no 3rd cat. AC drain looks the same and no grease fittings(oh well).

Hey Cool Ray! I just got the second last R/T Club Cab loaded like yours in Flame-Red C/C for $31,571.00 Sticker was $35,000.00 You better go back to your dealer and ask why leather cost you $11,500.00 MORE!!! (smile).
Oh..I think there is still ONE R/T, not decked out to the 9's left at a dealership in Brampton, Ont. Not sure what colour, but who the hell cares at this point. The 360 cube'er ROCKS let alone all the after-market support that will be there for years to come! You can rebuild them past where we become dust....:) Gotta love 'em.
