In the wiring harness the amp power on wire, or "blue" wire is connected to the remote antenna wire of the aftermarket head unit. When the tuner is on this wire has power and turns the stick amp on. When the CD Player is on the antenna is not needed so it is turned off, thus turning off the stock amp.

I also had this problem and I was able to fix it. BEFORE you go and follow my advice I STRONGLY urge you to research through the Custom Audio forum on this site as well as a google search for the Dakota Infinity System.

In order to turn the amp on with the CD player you need to connect either the blue wire of the power anteena wire to one of the speaker wires onn the truck side of the harness. This then sends a signal to the amp and turns it on.

yeah ive got a remote wire ran... what you put wasnt the problem.. and now only factory stereo left is the door speakers. but the factory speakers will not play when my headunit is playing a cd... they work fine if i just have the radio on....and today i noticed the subs cutting out and obvious drop in power being supplied to the entire radio after like 5 sec of it being on... all the lights go dimmer and the subs cut out... yet the amp remains on. ugh i hate electronics
