Message: Has anybody actually figured out the reason the rotors warp on our daks? I changed my stock warped ones to powerslots like a whole lotta others on this site. They lasted about a year-15k miles then warped also. So I was wondering if the root cause behind the warpped rotors is known and how dodge can keep denying there is a problem

Message: Rotor warpage is becoming a problem for most vehicle brakes.
We lost the ideal pad material....Asbestos do to environmental hazards, it was soft (good for the rotors) and it dissipated heat good,
Now pads are more metallic, so what you have is 2 slabs of metal (pads & rotors) rubbing together to stop you, this creates more heat for the rotor/pad to dissipate.
So now your seeing rotors needing replaced before 50k vs. 100k and your lucky to get one turn down on them.

Message: As mo-par said, its a material problem. Although it dosen't show up a quick, drum brakes share the same problem. The yuppie next door is one of those nit-wits that thinks Jap vehicles are better, so he buys a Subaru Outhouse. He is on his second set in less then 40K miles. I don't mind though. I only charged him $370 to fix it up for him.

Message: Well I don't know my 95 ram had 60k miles on its first set of brake pads and shoes and is still running the same rotors and drums at 88k miles. So why the problems with the daks?
