Subject: Interior Leak IP: Logged
Message: 98 4WD 5.2L V8 62,000 miles. Help. I have had a leak (drip) in the front passenger foot well for 2 years. I think it is associated w/ changes in humidity...(cold rain, heat on - drips, hot outside, a/c on - drips, etc.) I don't think it is heatercore or rain seeping in. I thought it may be a/c condensate blowing back in from fan, but I put an extension on outlet and it's still happening. My carpet is slowly being ruined. Any thoughts?

Message: I had the same problem with my 2000 Dakota. The dealership blamed the accident on cracking some housing under the passenger side dash. When I told them that it was doing it before the wreck they looked at me and said no it wasnt and it would be about $400 to fix. I shut up and let them screw the other guys insurance company. I didn't care who paid for it as long at it was not me and it got fixed. I can't remember which housing it was, but they replaced a housing and solved the problem.
