Thanks man for the post...Sounds like the identical problem I am having with my 02 dakota as well...I had it into the dodge dealers today and they said there is no problem with the ac at all....They had an ac tech check it out....They told me they want to book it in on Thursday and have their trim guy see if he can fix it..They swear it is not the ac and that it is a water leak...Anyway.its all warranteed...You think that they would know how to build a leakproof truck by now...Anyway,I will let you know what happens...Man,if they want to replace the carpet, I am gonna opt for a rubber floor liner instead..carpet and trucks shouldnt go together.

I'd lay $100 on the AC. When my '02 developed the problem, I ran water down through the cowl, door, and rear window channels...not a drop came in the cab. It hadn't rained in any appreciable amount for a long time, and there was WAY too much water on the floorboard for that. The AC works fine, it's the way the condensation drains that causes the problem.

There's got to be thousands of Dakota owners who don't even know this forum exists, who are driving around with water in their truck, and they have no clue.

Well, after two days of running mine now with the AC on, I have not seen any signs of water yet.

The new drain tube they put on seems to work well...I can now see it draining under the truck like I never had before. I will test it for another week and repost in the general forums.

The tube they installed on mine is about 2 foot.

As a side note...I couldnt believe how hot the floorboard gets under the carpet.

Kindest Regards,
Keith
