i know the battery relocating kits are 50+ dollars. i have a 97 5.2 reg cab. couldnt i just mount the battery w/o a box in the bed and just run some plain old 4 gauge into my bed and ground the battery to the frame? thanks

well i would "bolt it down" . it just wouldnt be fancy. it would be a peice of metal that is bolted to the bed and then has a lil strap of metal around the battery. my question is how to best attach the wire to the existing wire in the engine compartment.

battery must be in an approved container or else you wont pass inspection or be able to run at a track.
also... you will need to put a resistor in line with your battery temp sensor.

there are no inspections here in MI and i never been to the track ( i would need a cut off switch anways) in line resistor for temp? why?

okay... lets put it a different way. You get in a wreck, it breaks the battery case... battery acid everywhere.
just save yourself the trouble... besided $50 for the kit isnt that bad when you go buy all the pieces piece-by-piece.
btw, you dont even have safety inspections? sorry but i dont believe that.
