I'm wondering where the fuel filter is on a 1992 v6 4wd club cab Dakota. Also, how hard is it to change? Same with the PCV valve. My "Maint. Req." light just came on, and these need to be replaced for sure I know. What else can this be, since I DON'T wanna take it to a dealer. Any help is appreciated.

The Fuel filter is in the tank I believe. The PCV Valve is located on the right(passenger) valve cover. Turn the key on,off,on,off,on and leave it. The maint light will flash at you. These flashes are #'s example: flash flash, flash is 12 this tells you the self diagnostics has started. do this and see what codes it gives you. That is a good start at figuring out whats wrong

My 92 has the filter on the drivers side frame. My PCV is on the drivers side also...

There is a maint. required light and a check engine light. The dealer can turn off your maint reqd light for you for around 60 dollars.

This light was put in place to remind folks to do their required maintenance. As long as the check engine light isn't lit your truck will run fine and pass all emissions tests.

What is the EGR system? I'm only getting about 220 miles out of my 22 gallon tank, and I know that's low. I'm going to replace the fuel filter and PCV vavle, if anyone has instructions on how to do this, please post em. Much appreciated!!
