I clicked on this post by accident.

Gregg,

This is another great example of what this site has come to. It is unfortunate that you cant ask a question and get you answer or some who tries to help without these guys who think they are so CUTE and Funny.

There are better sites than this for info but this site leaves itself open to these stupid and idiotic responses. This site also still gets more hits and we have to deal with the guys who are board at work.

I see your point and it is a good question.

At least Alex is trying to help you out. I hope you post your findings.

Chris

well, it's no mistake..the truck is sitting in my driveway 4x2 club cab, 4.7L 4-8...5,350 GVWR...the same truck with the v-6 has a 6,010 rating. No one at the dealership could answer the question. An engineer from Dodge was supposed contact me within 48 hours according to customer service, but no contact..surprise, surprise.

I have to say, what a nice loking truck, that is sure fun to drive.

My 4.7/5sp-man/QC, built in June 03, has a GVWR of 6010 lbs. I looked back at some of the Dodge data at their web site and on some models there is an optional 900 lb increase in GVWR available for $195, some models may have it built in, and it doesn't seem to be available on the R/T model.

They don't seem to say what they do to the truck (tires, axles, shocks, ???) to increase the GVWR rating.

JimROy,

For some reason, it's just the 4.7L v-8 Club Cabs that have the 5,350lbs GVWR...and this so called "california engine"

Strange that Dodge did not get back to me as the customer service guy guaranteed me that someone from engineering would be getting back to me within 48 hours.
