 Subject: speedometer problem

I have a 1999 Dakota 4x4 with a 5.2/auto, and just recently My speedometer needle doesn't register anything from 0-24mph....after that the needle jumps to attention and it operates normally....IN ADDITION my "ABS" warning light and "Brake" light stay on all the time. I have a feeling the 2 problems are related ANYBODY GOT AN IDEA what my problem might be?

Most likely it's the rear axle speed sensor.
