Subject: MPG, and which toolbox to get? IP: Logged
Message: with 1000 miles on my 2003 reg cab 4x4 auto 4.7 I was getting 18 mpg at an average 65mph easy driving. It seems driving it hard doesnt do a whole lot to reducing the mpg. I think I also notice that at 75 I still get the same MPG, contrary to popular belief that over 55 you start to loose efficiency. I removed my tailgate, and put on a net and got 20 mpg (one fillup so far). I have been reading though it shouldnt make a difference if you have the tailgate up or not. Any thoughts? It looks better with the tailgate, but I'll take the mpg.
Also anyone know of a good bed crossover toolbox, that is less than $300?

Message: Switch your Dakota over to the AMSOIL Synthetic Oils and lubes for better M.P.G.
As far as the toolbox question goes I purchased a used AWS diamond plated box at a tire dealership for $50.00 .
I suggest that you look at the HUSKY brand that Home Depot sells.

Message: I'm a manager at a home depot, and we have some good husky boxes. I have the Black diamond plated on and i love it. It's only 200 bucks in my area.

Message: By the way, I tried www.weatherguard.com and had no luck. They are actually a division of KNAAK. Try this link for those having trouble.
http://portal.knaack.com/
They do have lots of nice stuff.
