Ok i went to the track and went a best of 17.070 at 79 mph, it was hot and humid, so with cool air it should run mid-high 16's. if ya wanna see my mods go to www.angelfire.com/la3/finedak stock my truck went 17.18, i think it should have ran better, anyway, i've been thinkin about going with a 3.9 gears, but someone told me to go to 4.11, since i have an Auto with O/D so gas milage won't suffer that much, but is 4.11 too low of a gear ratio for my truck? it's a 95 x-cab v6 auto. how much will it drop my times with a 4.11 vs 3.9? i have 3.55 now is it worth going to 3.9 instead of the 4.11? thanks.

3.90:1 is more than adequate for the V6. Yes, there is a slight difference on the highway with the 4.10's. I went from 3.55 to 3.90 to 4.10's. (Only went to the 4.10's due to the 32" tires...otherwise I would've stuck with the 3.90:1.)

Just went through the same considerations with my truck. I agree with Bernd. I don't know how the 3.9 will act but the 3.90s worked well for my daily driver. I'm glad I did it but don't see where 4.11 would help much more.
