Subject: Intake Systems for 5.2L V8 IP: Logged
Message: Ok here's the deal, I've got a 1998 Dakota Club Cab 5.2L V8 and I recently had purchased the AEM Brute Force. What a POS. AEM states on their site fits all "Dodge Dakota 1997-99 5.2L All" What a crock of fuking shlt. Whoever was at the R&D department over there the day they created that thing was smoking some heavy dope. The intake pipe routes into the fuking AC line about 1" from it. The heat shield had to be modified as well and still did not fit. They didn't include the AEM power spacer which it was supposed to as well. Very Disappointed considering my friends with trucks, Chevy Trucks, had raved about them.
So I'm looking at either getting the Volant now or the FIPK Gen 2. I'm looking for someone that has installed either of these systems on my truck and has some pictures. I don't mind either system. I know that the volant works as they have a pic on their site.

As you can see in that picture the Volant fits with the filter before the AC line. If you also take notice at the end of the filter that's where the god damned AEM short ram ended up without the intake filter on! Needless to say, AEM’s getting back their ASS force and I’m going to get something else.
Help a fellow DAK owner!!!
