got an 01' dakota, had it dropped 2"/4"... now im lifting it back to stock but the ball joints wont drop so i cant remove the springs... WHAT DO I DO TO SEPPARATE THE BALL JOINT FROM THE UPPER CONTROL AND THE SPINDLE??? plz help guys truck is just sittin in the garrage...
ps. got a chassis tech drop kit now for sale.

Get a pickle fork from the parts store. Stick it between the ball joint and spindle and hit it with a hammer. If you hit it hard enough it should pop right apart.

Hey Don, just turn the wheel to one side with the front end lifted and supported under the frame for safety. Take off the front wheels and find yourself a 3 lbs hammer ( bigger is better, but a sledge is too big.) Remove the cotter pin and loosen the nut, but leave it on 3 or 4 threads. Now hit the spindle where the ball joint taper passes through it. 2 or 5 hits should see it free. Good luck
