I light of other threads bouncing around here, I think it would only be fair to see how many satisfied Dakota drivers/owners we can find here. The whiners are doing their job, which is spreading negative attitudes and pissy thoughts.
Let's see a head count here...

I Love my 02 QC 4X SLT+ I had owned a 97 reg cab dak before this one and I said I would never buy another but this has changed my mind they shouldn't even call it a dak I LOVE MY Truck my next truck will be a QC dak

Count me in. Just traded in my 2000 QC 4.7 for a 2003 QC 4.7 and my wife drives a 2001 Durango 4.7. Love them all.

count me in. 2nd dak my wife can believe i'm still happy with it i usually trade every year or two. installed power windows aand door locks and keyless entry over the weekend very happy with this board as well many good people and much info. appreciated

I am a fairly new member to this board. I actually "discovered" it about a month ago while I was doing research for a new small 4 wheel drive truck. This site and a few others actually convinced me to purchase an 03 Sport Plus 4.7 Regular Cab with towing package. Although it only has 1100 miles on it so far, I can't overemphasize how happy I am with it. It's powerful, good looking and drives well. My first truck that I ever owned was a turbo-charged Toyota (i think an 88), it was too small and as someone else stated here, had no soul. I look forward to the next 100-200 thousand miles.

3000 miles i am happy run the crap out of this truck. had a 2002 harley truck got recked at 300 miles. haveing more fun with dak for $20.000 less.

I love both my Daks and will soon add number three. I have had little to no problems with my Daks. I keep them very well maintained (I take care of them, they take care of me).

10-4, I drove Chevy S-10's for a total of 5 from 1982 (first year out) until 1997. It was then, I bought my first, a '97 Dak CC 4x4. It was a great truck and my current '00 QC 4x4 is even better. Now I'm switching my wife from her S-10 Blazer to a Durrango. No regrets here.

Bought my first Dak in January, 2003 after owning a Ford Ranger 2WD (bought new in 92). Very happy with the beast. I use it for my everyday vehicle.
2003 CC FT4WD, 4.7, 5spd auto, 3.92 LS & other assorted options.
Beats the Ranger in every way.

bought a 5.2 sport when i was 18, wasnt satisfied with it, so i got a r/t when i was 19, now im 22, still have the r/t.. only because its cheaper to keep it than get butt raped on trading it in.

Hey Jason B. I take offence that you refer to people that buy/own Dakotas with wonderful intentions end up having trouble with their Dakotas.
I love my Dakota, but is it my fault that I've had the dealer replace my tranny 3 times in 42,000 miles? They were all replaced, and eventually all parts relating to it, due to "manufactuing defects." It runs great now. Did I complain about my tranny? Hell yeah!!!!! You would too. I haven't had any problems with my tranny since, and now I'm at 72k.
I don't by a vehicle with the intention of "whining" on any particular forum, but I've gained great insight and learned alot for others that have had the same or similar problems to mine.
I'm glad your Dakota is perfect in every way Jason, and I'm sure it will continue to be.

Have a 2000 Sport 3.9 auto, 49,000 mi. Wife now wants to trade her Jimmy for a Durango. Overall I'm satisfied, am currently having front end problem (excess tire wear), but alignment should fix it. Haven't seen any vehicle yet that hasn't had some type of problem, just some people bitch about it more than others.

I knew it wouldn't take long to find someone to spoil this. That's ok, it was expected. Sammy G...no one said that my truck was perfect and no one said taking it to the dealer for repairs is not needed from time to time. What is NOT needed is those people who come to a website intended for entusiasts & owners & drivers of Dakotas only to trash mouth what it is that most of us enjoy owning and driving. The intention of this thread was to show the whiners on this site that they are NOT the majority. I am convinced that satisfied owners outnumber unsatisfied owners.
