Subject: U-Joint Question IP: Logged
Message: Were getting a pop/clank noise and a jerk sensation when the Dak is moving slow, 5-15 mph. The U-Joints are rusty and the back set was hot on one of the four joints.
Could the pop\clank noise be the U
-Joints?

Message: When a u-joint goes, you will get a clunk when you apply power and again when you let off. Sounds like the problem you are having. They're cheap and easy to replace. Less than $20 apiece.

| Part Number U-Joint Question? IP: Logged
Message: Looks like I need new U-joints. Anyone know what would be good brand to use for the 2000 Dak 4 x 4. I'm thinking ones with a lub fitting would be best.
Thanks for your replies.

Message: It may not be just u joints. If you have a 2 part driveshaft that sound is keeping them from binding up. Mine used to do that it depends on how you drive. It would cluck, and surge at low speeds 10-25 mph.
