Subject: Tire Size ? IP: Logged
Message: hey all,
i'm ordering my new 2001 dak quad 4 x 2 V8 next week. i want a 4 x 4 look but don't want to lift (maybe later). can i fit the stock 4 x 4 tires on my truck without rubbing? what is the largest tire (height/width) i can fit without rubbing? i searched through the archives but i'm still confused (new to this!) and would appreciate any help.
thanks much,
yvonne

Message: My 01 Quad 2wd with tire and handling package came with Goodyear Eagle LS's that figure out to be about 29X10ish on 16's . 30X10's should fit with out breaking a sweat by my not so calibrated eye, assuming you can get the correct back spacing on a 15x8 inch rim. I haven't looked for bigger tires in the 16's.There might be enough room for 31's if you don't actually want to test your full suspension travel ;). One of the many 4x4 owners may be able to verify this but I seem to remember 31x10 1/2 on 15's coming stock on them on the 'em. Looks to be enough room on my truck to run 'em.

Message: I love the stance. The tires look positively massive on it. I got the black Sport so the wheels really stand out. Seeing from the tail end (as most people on the local hiways see it ;) the rubber looks WIDE ! My 4.7/auto drive train with the 3.92 limited slip rear end can tear up the Goodyear eagles. They grip real well but I can get the rear end sliding around with out too much trouble. Hope you like yours as half as much as I do mine.
