Hey Guys,
This guy is selling a 360 out of a wrecked 2001 Ram. The engine is fine and will run. Question is, will it fit in my 93 Club cab Dakota's transmission, or will I have to change it? Will I have to change anything else big?

you will have a bigger problem !!
Your truck is OBD I
and the 2001 is OBD II
you will need all the electronics from the 01 truck then you are going to need a PCM from a 01 Dakota to make it work.
The tranny should bolt up ok but then again you will have the OBD I & II problem the PCM controls the shifting on the newer truck
You would have less trouble if you just got a Mopar crate engine and dropped it in !!

mo-par,
I would get a crate engine, but he is selling the engine for $500 and it has 35,000 miles on it. How hard is it to do all the electronics and how long does it take?

the motor it's self won't know the difference since they are the same inside and out be it obd1 or 2. if you put the moter in and hook it up to the 93 harness it will work fine however you need a computer(obd 1) from a 93 ram 5.9. Then the motor will run as though it is a 93 5.9, and the tranny will work fine(with the 93 computer)

or you can do it ahlf assed and carb it but I highly recommend you use the computer. You might want to consider a trans upgrade though in the near future

if he uses the harness off his 318 and a computer off a 93 ram(which uses the same harness as a dakota) it will work fine the two motors have all the same sensers.
The old computer would hook right up and the "new" motor will run as if it where a 93 motor, actually it will run better throught he 93 exhaust
