Subject: rear end drop IP: Logged
Message: is it true that if you flip the rear leaf springs to the underside of the axle then it can lower it a few inches??? and how does this affect the ride???

Message: On 2wd Dakotas the axle is already located above the springs, on 4wd axle is below. That leaves you with 2 choices on the 2wd, lowering blocks (not a good idea they tend to crack) or new springs.

Message: I had 2" drop rear hangers, but picked up driveline vibration from the increased pinion angle. I put the stock hangers back on and went to 2" extruded aluminum blocks with built-in pinion angle correction. Works great so far, 40K miles.
