I've had my 2001 CC 4.7l 35,000 miles at 2 different dealers 3 times now for a sickly sweet smell that intermittantly blows out the A/C. It doesn't happen when with them and they can't find a problem.
Now, my A/C is starting to just blow warm air.
What do I do now? I have 1K left on the warranty.

Take it back in and tell them you want the whole system replaced. Remind them of the whole warranty thing.

That's a clever solution....replace the entire system. You will never find a dealer to do that. Typical of some of the mentality around here.
Most likely the evaporator core was/is leaking freon if you smelled that kind of odor before losing cold air. With the a/c no longer cooling, the dealer will be forced to address your concern within the requirements of the warranty.

A sickly sweet smell is most often associated with antifreeze. if your smelling it in the cab then MAYBE the heater core has a small leak. The blower motor blows air thru the heater core continuously as long as the blower motor(fan) is on..the difference is ...while the AC is on, the heater core SHOULD be at room temperature because the Heater Control valve is not allowing coolant(antifreeze) to circulate through it to warm it up; however, there is always an amount of coolant inside the heater system that can leak out.
check the passenger side floorboard WAY up under the dash for dampness or a stronger sweet smell.
have your dealer inspect the heater core if you find anything.
