I recently got new headlights so naturally i got new bulbs. While at the pepboys i got some (as ricey as it sounds) A1C Super White High wattage 9007's for the dakota. Here's where i'm concerned... My dak has 55/65 watts for the head lamps but these run at 80/100 so can they seriously hurt my dak? Because i'm having doubts and will probably go back to pepboys, return them and get some 55/65 just to be sure, just wanted some advice.
P.S. no driving has been done on them, only testing to see if they light up.

Dodge is very skimpy on their wire sizes. I would check the circuit every so often to make sure nothing is melting (at the relay, at the back of the headlights, any other junctions). Other than that, you should really notice (and like) the extra light.
My only other thought is, are 80/100W bulbs legal? The police around here are very picky about things like that. They will pull you over for too dim/bright lights.

been running 100W lights for a year now, no problems.
onroad, offroad no problems.
I have heard some say wire cluster gets hot.

Definitely not legal. Neither was the 55/90 I ran in my Harley but at least I wouldn't blind anyone on the low beam. High beam a cop and expect to get pulled over no matter what your wattage is.

On a related subject, are those 'diamond clear' headlights any brighter than the stock Dak headlights (given the same bulb)? Or are they (the clear headlights) just for looks?
