my engine light just came on at 5018 miles on 03- 4.7/ 5-speed auto quad cab, what should i do? seems to be ok exept slight rough idle (miss). but ive had this since day one.

Have you checked the code? Turn the key on and off three times quickly, you should see the P code appear in the odom. Once you have the code, you can check the Dealer Recalls forum and look for a post called "all engine codes".

Take it to your dealer. It is called a (M)alfunction (I)ndicator (L)amp for a reason.

See that the gas cap is screwed on tight. Be sure that it clicks at least a few times or the light will come on. Other than that I really don't know.

as i was driving the other day the light just went out by itself. when i called the service dept they told me i would have to leave truck for at least 2 days.i think ill just wait for light to come on again..
