 Subject: Fuel guage inaccurate?

Has anyone else noticed that the fuel gauge is kind off? I have an 03 CC 4.7L and noticed that when the idiot light comes on and the guage reads empty I only get 15 gallons or so before it's full. It's supposed to be a 22 gallon tank. So can I drive another 100 miles after hitting empty? Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.
