Message: I have a '96, 3.9, auto, Dakota sport. The question I have is, should there be any movement in the shaft sticking out of the power steering rack? It doesn't move in or out of the rack, but I can move it side to side, or front to back. I can feel this in the steering wheel if I am on a gravel road. Other than that, the truck drives, and steers perfectly.
