Message: My manual states every 12,000 miles if (1) you tow anything OR (2) you change your oil every 3,000 as a result of the criteria in that maintenance schedule (I think it's Schedule B). Seems overkill to me. I abused the hell outta my ranger -- changed diff gear oil at 15,000 (when I switched out the 3.27's to 4.10's) and then to synthetic at 72,000 ... still ran great at 145,000 miles. Every 12,000 seems insane to me -- of course, this is probably a ploy to never honor a warranty claim again ... which Dodge seems pretty good at. And what's with the 75W140 thing ... talk about overkill!!!!! My neighbor's tractor trailer only uses 75W90 synthetic. I can see it now ... the Dodge engineers sitting around the table going, "Ya, would be heroes if we made a maintenance schedule that was so over the top, that nothing ever broke ... or better yet, nobody would adhere to it, so we'd never have to honor a warranty claim .. wow!!!! ... We'll get a great raise then!!!!".
