Subject: Removing Dashboard IP: Logged
Message: Hello Everyone:
I have a question. I need to replace my evaporator(I think). I get leaking in the passenger side of the truck. This only happens when I have my A/C or I am blowing cool air on the windshield. I was wondering if anyone has any instructions on how to remove the dashboard and get to this evaporator. P.S I should add there is lots of water coming out of the drip hole on the fire wall so I am certain it is not plug. Any suggestions?

Message: It`s a very common problem for the Dakota , do a search for A/C leaks or water on pass. side floorboard. It`s been talked about a bunch here , my `02 had the same problem and I repaired it myself by sealing the hole around the draintube and putting a 90deg. elbow on the end of the tube.
Take it to the dealer if it`s still covered under warranty! I only fixed mine myself because my dealer SUCKS!
