Subject: 1987 Dodge Dakota Fuel Pump?
IP: Logged

Message:
My son has a 1987 Dodge Dakota that just dies periodically. Sometimes several times a day and sometimes it'll run for several days without dieing. There is no pattern, it dies while driving down the road, it dies while stopped at a light. It will not restart easily once it dies, but eventually it will start. It always smells like it is flooded. Our mechanic insists the fuel pump is ok, but I'm thinking we may need a new mechanic, or a new truck. This is getting old. Any ideas? It's an old truck, in lousy body condition, but until now it's been a good old truck. My wife says, take it to the junk yard! I'm not ready to give up. Help!
