I have a 2000 R/T CC, Hotchkis suspension, and Kumho Ecsta Supra tires. All I need to do is pull a Uhaul trailer so I can move. I'm thinking a:

5' x 10' Uhaul Trailer
Empty weight: 1,250 lbs
Max load: 1,550 lbs
Maximum Gross Weight (trailer plus load): 2,800 lbs
Tow hitch required: Class 2 (3,500 lb. minimum weight-carrying rating)
Hitch ball: 1 7/8, 2 or 2 1/8, (3,500 lb. minimum)
**************

OR a 5' x 8' Uhaul trailer will be fine for me.
Empty weight: 900 lbs
Max load: 1,800 lbs
Maximum Gross Weight (trailer plus load): 2,700 lbs
Tow hitch required: Class 1 (2,000 lb. minimum rating)
Hitch ball: 1 7/8, 2 or 2 1/8 (2,000 lb. minimum)

I was hoping someone had experience pulling one of these trailers with my setup and can please tell me if I can pull either of these trailers with my r/t's suspension/tires?

I am buying a hitch soon, however, not sure if I need the Class 3 or class 2. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much for your help, couldnt find this exact answer in the archives, but i do apologize if it is a repeat!

Josh

I have an 01 QC 4.7 v-8 class III hitch and towed a 6X12 Uhual double axle trailer from DC to northern NJ and back full of the girlfriends newly purchased antiques with no problems (truck problems that is ) The things we do for our girls! Anyway - it handled it great! You could feel the weight, but the V-8 power really handled it well. I also have the tranny cooler option.
If you do not already have a hitch - get a Class III 'Hidden Hitch' easy to install - you can also get the wiring harness that just plugs into you current lights (under the truck) 'T' harness that you simply plug your current lighting harness into etc etc real easy.
Good luck.
