Subject: Help! Truck Making Major Squeaking!!! IP: Logged
Message: I have had my truck to the dealer 2 times. It is a 2001 QC Dakota 4x4 4.7, the dealer replaced the power steering pump the first time, the 2nd, they cited the replace of the pump, and told me they couldn't hear anything..
my trouble-
i am always driving along, not every time, but most, when my truck starts making this noise, usually around 28 mph, but once it starts it maked it in all speed ranges. it sound like something inserted in a bicylce tire, like every rotation it squeaks, it sound like a police siren. when the brakes are applied, it stops, when they are release it begins again. if a turn is made it stops, until the wheel is straight and it begins again.
HELP ME I WANT TO PUT IT OVER A HILL!!!

Message: Check out your various pumps and accessories with an automotive stethoscope. If one of them is making noise it should also be vibrating in an irregular pattern.

Message: I have a '98 extended cab, and it sounds like the exact same problem. I'm convinced it is the calipers, but I've not been able to confirm. Dodge dealer never did find the problem. Please let me know if you have found a solution. By the way, they replaced a drive shaft, greased some things and replaced the ball joints. When that didn't cure it, I was told the front rotors were warped. I replaced those and the pads, of course, still squeaks sometimes. I've also replaced belt, even thought it doesn't seem to be related to the engine.

Message: It wouldn't happen to be the bushings, would it?
When it is wet, does the noise stop and does it start when it is dry? Try spraying some lube on your bushings.
