Subject: Fuel pump problem IP: Logged
Message: Hi, I am new to this forum and have a question. I need a fuel pump for a 2000 dakota quad cab with a 4.7 and a 24 gallon tank. Does anyone know if you can buy an after market pump for that, or do I have to pay $350.00 from the dealer? The dealer told me that the one for the 22 Gallon tank won't fit this truck, is this true? Anyway thanks for the help. Scott

Message: Try Autozone.
When I replaced the pump on my 92 Dakota, the bottom moved up and down to adjust to different fuel tanks.
I've heard that Holley makes a pump also but can't confirm that.

Message: I'm having the same problem finding an aftermarket part suited for the 24 gallon tank that comes with the QC. I've checked the usual suspects like AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc., and their computers only show parts for the 22 gal tank on reg/club cabs. Does anyone know if you have to replace the whole assembly or if it is possible to only replace the pump itself?
