So I've been getting the same clunking sounds in the front end of my 4x4 that many get, especially when turning left. I took the truck in last month regarding this and they replaced all the sway bar bushings and told me that would be it. So I take it in today for the same reason (the clunking didn't stop and it's difficult to go a day without the wheels to take it back in) and now today they tell me it's the steering rack. Seems after 35km's my ball joints are still perfect (we shall see after test drive). They also fixed a ceased up rear brake cylinder, cut the drums and informed me that my rotors in the front end are pitted and warping a bit. Well obviously since I complained about the pulsation. So for a mere $130/rotor and $80 in labour, they will put factory rotors back on for me as the rotors are only covered for 1 year or 20,000 Km's. Never heard of such a warranty where the rotor's weren't covered. I digress. Where is everyone getting the slotted rotors? I don't want to be putting factory rotors back only to have to do this again next year. I'll be doing this job myself, $80 labour? haha... I'll have 4 beer gone by the time I replace the two rotors at a cost of about $1 per beer. Any tips or recommendations about new rotors?

Regards,
Aaron

Try this on for size, Power Slots. If anyone else can chime in on this please do. Try these sites for rotors and see what you think.

I have the Powerslots. If you off road or go mudding you have to be extra careful to not defeat the purpose of the slots and holes by clogging them up. You have to keep them clean and free of mud and dirt. I have had to have mine turned after 15K miles. You have to make sure anyone who removes your front tires does not use an impact gun. They warp to but I do ,like them better. I got the ceramic pads to. makes the rims look cleaner longer.

I put the powerslots on with Hawk HPS pads and have been very happy. Though my rims still get dirty, at least I can stop. My stock rotors warped at about 9,000 miles and the dealer determined the way to fix them was to remove even more of the crappy metal. They warped within a week of that ( 100 miles a day commuter traffic ). Now have about 50,000 on the powerslots and it may be getting time to look at them again along with the rears.

Rotors are typically only covered until 12,000 miles.

They don't happen to make the Hawk HP+ for our trucks, do they?

I havn't ever seen them listed. I was hoping I could cross reference with something.

I have them on my RX-7 and I have track-proven them out on a road course. I love those pads. A set all around in my truck would be excellent.
