I want to keep my truck at stock height because of the clearance i love ;) I dont want to jack it up because I would need to extend my break lines :( and I dont wanna drop it because, well i live in Maine and frost heaves suck and I go hard on them hehe.

I found the Rancho 5000 series to be nice looking and boots are included.

The real reason for the post is: I dont think my shocks have EVER been changed by the previous owner. They are soooooo friggin rusted. Also, the top of my front wheelwells, you can see where the tires rub on the top of the well...paint is missing.

Is the rubbing on the wells due to bad shocks? or springs?

Also, if I were to raise my dak say...about 2 inches..would I need new break lines and such? What would I need also....new shocks, springs??

If youre gonna lift the truck then yeah youll need new shocks. you may not need brake lines but it depends on how much you lift it.

As for rancho 5000 the 4x4 shop next to me said to go for some pro comp 9000. they said cheaper and same performance.

Im getting some installed today so Ill let you know how it feels

I have a 3" body lift and new break lines were not needed. New springs and shocks are not necessary either, but you might get a better ride with new shocks. I plan to get some the Pro Comp 9000's in the near future.

Ok...so now i realize there is a difference in "body lifts" where you actually lift the body. What I want to do is get the suspension to lift the truck up..which would mean i need new springs and add a leaf kit right??? (for better ride).

Lifted my 2000 4x4 1 1/2" front and back - simple torsion bar adjustment for front, Roadmaster active supension in back ( better than add a leafs I've put on other trucks ) with no other supension mods or problems.
