Subject: New MTR have a bounce IP: Logged
Message: Hi,I got a set of 265/75/16 goodyear mtr today and they have a bounce to them that shakes the truck a little,is that right for mud tires to do that or should I take them bake and have them re balanced.I also had them mount the weights on the back of the rim so the lip of my motorsport rims wouldn't be chewed up,would that have a effect on the balance. Thanks Brian

Message: I have 32" MT/R's that are only a month old, and they
ride fine. i would take them back, and get them
rebalanced, and check the front end alignment.

Message: I would have them tires balanced with the weights where they need to be. A buddy told me to have the weights put on the inside only and I had this problem. I had them re-balanced properly and they were fine.
MT's are a terrible tire to keep in balance but also have a problem with being perfectly round like a street tire or a AT. Plus as they wear the balance will change and cause this in time.
Never late for a Tee time or wheelin with my buddies! Always ready for both!!!Forexfour's home

Message: I just put a set of 20 inch on my 2000 4.7 4x4 sport and had the guy put the weights on the inside, it rides pretty good but i guess because of the 20 inch rim you feel the road more. Also i noticed that the truck is very sensitive to the road now, it will pull to the right if im on the right side and to the left when im on the left side. Is this normal?

Message: Thanks for the info forexfour,I took them back to Samas club and had them check them,he said they think its the rims the have a little hop to them. When he showed me the tires on the machine the rim looked like it went up and down a little but not much. The tire though didn't look to good it bounced up and down some.I'm going to take them to a walmart and have them rebalance them with the weight on the outside.I just didn't want to mess up my new black motorsports wheels.Laters Brian

Message: people like you bother me, you buy mud tires for use on the street - not street tires for the street. Of course it is going to ride horrible. I see this at work every day some yuppy comes in and buys mud tires comes back the next day because his truck no longer rides like a caddilac. Second buy not placing the wieghts on the outside of the rim the tires will wear out much sooner due to the added weight becasue it takes more wieght when balancing tires this way so just put the weight where it belongs
thanks
