Subject: Removing the bed? IP: Logged
Message: I need to get the back wall of the cab Line-X'd (drop in liner rubbed a spot and it's rusting), and the guy said it would be $100 if I already have the bed off.
So how can I remove the bed (what connections need to be pulled), how heavy is it, and is there a good way to wire in the stock taillamps so I can drive it to the shop?

Message: Liquid wrench, or WD40, preferrably an impact wrench, or some elbow grease. There are bolts the go through the bottom of the frame, that mount to the bed. A few screws in your gas filler neck, and any wire looms that may be platic riveted on the underside of the bed, and take your tail lights out, disconnect those connectors.
YOu could perhaps just cable tie your tail lights to the frame when you have the bed off. Oh and you will need a couple of hands to help take off and put back on, especially one to guide around filler neck.
