My wife was driving our brand new Dakota (3000 km) and was slowing down for someone ahead who was turning, and found that she had no brakes.
The pedal went all the way to the floor, and the ABS sounded like it would catch for a second but never did. Once she turned it off, and started it again, everything was back to normal, and it has had no problems since. It's in the dealer right now being looked at.
Anyway, now with $3000 damage to the other car and a looming insurance claim, I can see a big fight with Chrysler coming if the shop doesn't find anything.
Just wondering if anybody else had ever had this problem or heard of it before.

DGG I had a problem with the ABS on my 03 CC. I applied the brake pretty hard to avoid an idiot, and the abs light came on. the next time I went to stop the rear brakes did not want to work as hard as they should , luckly the stop was for a red light wih no body in front of me. As I recall this occured at about 4000 miles. The dealer was most responsive about repairing the truck,the very next morning ( a saturday by the way), they replaced something in the ABS control. No problems since than (at 9000 miles now) Good luck, hope everyone was OK

Hope your wife enjoys her failure to stop in a safe and assured distance ticket. Maybe you can teach her about brake fade and how not to ride the brakes when she drives.

Hmm, I wonder if this site will ever be a members-only site. It would be unfortuneate for guest's who use for what its meant, but at least we won't have to deal with the likes of how this thread ended up.
