Subject: AfterMarket Fog Lights IP: Logged
Message: I bought my Dakota in February but it did not
come with fog lights. I want to add fog lights,
but Dodge does not offer a fog light kit for
the 2001 Dakota.
Where can I get a good set of fog lights for
my Dakota, and are there any issues mounting
the lights on the Dakota.
I saw another post that mentioned possibly using
the existing fog light relay already in the
truck ?

Message: I was the guy that posted about using the existing relay, etc.
The PIAA 510 seems to be the way to go if you're willing to pay that much. PIAA also makes brackets to fit them to a dakota. The bracket kit costs about $30 and are currently back ordered. After trying to make my own brackets I decided the ones from PIAA were the way to go. When they come in I'm going to rip into the fuse block and figure out a way to get them into the factory relay and fuse.

Message: dakowner: try ebay, they always seem to have oem fog lights there. Just type in Dodge Dakota at the parts screen, to filter out all of the ricer stuff. There is one guy that is selling(orwas yesterday) one fog light and bracket. Or you could get rid of the oem pos foggers and replace 'em with other 4" round foggers. I went the cheap route for now, and bought a HID wanna be set from wally world for around 35.00. Piaa's will be next, after my house is done, good luck

Message: Just go down to the dealer and pick one up. They are only 20 bucks (sometimes cheap plastic crap is nice to have) and comes with the bracket and a new bulb pre-installed also. Have replaced 2 already myself from some idiot backing into me.
Cheers!
