I think the Daks sold in Argentina have amber tail lights. While you're down there you can test drive the 115hp TurboDiesel Dakota CC Sport that looks like an SLT.

maaaa "wat are u talkin about" read his fcuking post again and again, maybe then u will understand what it means. can u not read english or something? maybe if u spent some time reading about our trucks and their options in other countries, u would realize that in countries where gas is 6/gallon, they cant afford to have a fcuking 5.9 Liter, they have turbo diesel

The tail light/brake light/turn signal shares the same bulb in the Dakota's lens, so you couldn't just make one of the items a different color. I'm sure you could find a set of illegal clear lenses and use amber bulbs instead of red, but you'd doubly be asking for a visit from the local Johnny Law.
As fun as it may sound, cops with nothing better to do love to bust on people with illegal lights on their vehicles. My girlfriend got a ticket in my truck at 2am because the cop thought my parking light bulb was "too blue". We got the $75 ticket thrown out but it was a huge pain in the ass to deal with the issue.

Amber turn signals on the rear are illegal? I thought most manufactures went to red turn signals in order to save money. I see amber turn signals alot better than I see the red turn indicators. To me the red ones looks like brake lights.
BTW, if the amber turn signals are DOT illegal, then why are some new cars still being sold with them?

Why would red ever be cheaper to manufacture? No, you can only have red lights on the back, reverse lights white, and amber side markers and white forwards, its safety dude, if you want someone crossing the lines on a single lane highway on you cause they think they are in the wrong lane go a head and change you colors, mistake if you ask me.

You can have amber turn signals, but on the Dakota the turn signal, tail light, and brake light is all one bulb behind one lens. You cannot separate the turn signal from the brake light - it's either all amber or all red, and you can't legally use amber brake lights.

I know I have some amber on the back of my '95 Lebaron, but, I know there is some red too. If I wasn't so lazy I'd go outside and turn on the blinker for yah.
Ok, maybe I'm not so lazy, just went outside. The rear turn lights are amber.
