Subject: New Cooling System and Still Overheating IP: Logged
Message: The radiator was replaced a year ago.
High flow water (Flowkooler) was added this weekend along with new clutch fan and Hypertech 180 degree thermostat. I believe I burped all of the steam pockets out of the cooling system. The 318 runs cooler, but still heats appears to overheat. Is this a blockage? Is there anything I can do besides tearing the engine apart and running rifle brushes through it?

Message: The question is does your truck overheat when just at idle and/or slow speeds or crusing down the road or both? This is important because the answers to all three scenerios have different problems.
Overheating just at idle or slow speeds is usually due to a lack of airflow across the radiator. This means the fan/clutch and/or shroud is a question.
Overheating at speed can be a low hose collapsing or an overly lean condition (which is rare for computer controlled engines..but common on carbed engines). This also includes an intake leak causing this.
Overheating at all times suggests that there maybe a clogged radiator or your thermostat is an issue. When using high flowing water pumps you should be running a high flow thermostat as well. Commonly referred to as "balanced thermostats". You can get a Robert Shaw from Summit Racing that is a high flow. Check out this site on balanced thermostats http://performanceunlimited.com/illustrations/thermostats.html
You haven't changed from Green antifreeze to red or visa versa lately have you? This could be an issue as well.
Also go to my cooling forum at http://www.inccn.net/jscooling.htm for more inforamtion on cooling.
