Message: JohnJ, CAFE is an acronym for Corporate Average Fuel Economy. CAFE was enacted by Congress to reduce both pollution and dependence on foreign energy sources. The concept is based upon a sales weighted average fuel economy of vehicles produced by a manufacturer. (Cars and light trucks are in separate categories with different mpg requirements.) More info can be found at NHTSA's website: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/cafe/
Hope this helps. Regards, Steve
