Do you have to have insurance on a vehicle with a lean if you take the vehicle off the road and turn in the plates? I am looking into storing a vehicle for about 6 months and do not want to have to pay the insurace on it.

What about fire, theft or vandalism? I am sure the lender or lienholder will require insurance and the insurance company will notify them if the insurance is dropped.
