Subject: Is it normal to sag on drivers' side? IP: Logged
Message: I am nearing completion of my suspension lift and shackle lift on my 97 Dakota. I hadn't paid attention before, but I noticed that the drivers' side was about 1/2 inch lower than the passengers' side. Take into account that the truck has 119000 miles on it and I have a full 22 gallon fuel tank, which is on the drivers' side. Is this normal or should I start un-installing suspension components to see where I screwed up?

Message: Normal. When I lowered my '92 with spring steel plates in the rear, I used one 1/4" plate extra on the right side. My '01 has the same problem, but I've lived with it so far. Hey, Ferds and Chebbies are the same way...

Message: Thanks for the info. I am relieved that I probably didn't screw anything up. This is my first experience doing any suspension work other than swapping out shocks or struts. I thought it was somewhat normal, but I wanted to ask those who have more experience than me, or who have owned pickups longer than I have [6 months].
thanks!
