Subject: Wiper Arm - Town'n'Country Van IP: Logged
Message: My wife does not have a Dakota so she has to drive a 1997 Town'n'Country van. One of the wiper arms on her van began flopping around a bit, so I unbolted the wiper arm from the pivot.
The arm slides down over the tapered and grooved drive pivot, and is held on with a nut. Though the nut is tight, the grooving on the inside of the wiper arm is worn away and the arm does not get the full travel.
Is it possible to repair the wiper arm somehow? If not, is this a dealer part or something I can get at a discount place? Finally, if it needs replacing can I just replace the attachment piece or must I replace the entire arm.
Many thanks,
David

Message: take the arm off and wrap the stud with a layer or two of tin foil then put it all back together that should add enough material to tighten it up. good luck.
