 Subject: Blinking security light

My dak (97 ext cab 4x4 w/5.2) has the factory security system. When ever i lock the doors a light by the gauges flashes SECURITY. It does this for about 5 secs then stops. I would like to have it keep flashing till i unlock the doors like most other cars with security systems. Is there a way to have it keep blinking?

Is it a dealer installed EVSII or is it the SKIS (big key with transponder)?

it blinks 15 times in 15 seconds not for five and no there is no way to extend the blink period. Why?? Dodge figures that some of us will park our Daks for several days and the constant blinking will run down the battery.
