Subject: Towing from step bumper IP: Logged
Message: Quick question, if Dodge allows towing of up to 2000 lbs from the Step bumper then why aren't there any safety chain loops on my 2000 Dakota. Am I missing something or am I just not seeing them. There are two very small loops but there is now way any chain will go through them. Any ideas?

Message: Don't tow with the bumper... Go out spend a couple hundred bucks on a class I or class II hitch. I have a class IV on mine. Bumper really aren't good for towing even if dodge say so or any other manufacturer for that matter?? Just my opinion

Message: I didn't say it wouldn't work!! just isn't recomended for any kind of real towing. and if you averaged 100+ towing you need to be takin off the road.
