Subject: Body lift before exhaust???
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi guys, quick question. Im having my truck worked on tomorrow, brakes need to be changed. the place im taking it to also does exhaust. Im going to be lifting the truck 3 inches with a PA body lift, plus the exhaust(duals after the cat) and 33x12.5 duelers on black AR wheels. My question is do i have to do the body lift before i do the exhaust. Ive been told that if I do the exhaust first then the body lift the pipes will be noticably lower then the back bumper, I dont want the pipes to be low and look out of place so what should i do? the truck is a 97 ext cab 4x4 with the 5.2l V8. Thanx

I guess it really depends on the exhaust that you go with and if you have a tow bar. I put the Gibson Dual Rear Catback exhaust before the 3" body lift. I would have been able to "spin" the tail pipes up closer to bumper if the tow bar hadn't gotten in the way. I still think it looks good. You can see what the rear of my truck looks like by going to the following link:
