Called a local drive trans shop. I have heard good things about their work. I got a price of $401. out the door with new 4.10s, install kit w/ new seals etc, and install, gear oil, everything including tax. I also asked about a LS diff. He said a spicer ls was a great buy and all above with the spicer LS was $630. out the door. What do you think?
I am not gonna do the spicer right now, maybe in the future. I have a couple hundred bucks to play with but I want these gears so i can make it happen. But what do you think about the $401.? Thanks

If I understand you correctly you are gonna get 4.10's now with no L/S?
If I am correct on that dont waste your money, 4.10's with an open rear = no traction at all.
Do it all or wait till you can, trust me.

You have a 2WD , not a 4X4 if I`m not mistaken?
Those seem like reasonable prices to me.
If you are going to wheel with it at all , I`d go for the locker at the same time.
Something else to consider...if the Spicer requires you to remove the gears to install it , it`s going to cost you more money at a later date. You may be saving $$ and headaches if you do it all at once.

That is a very nice price and if you're going to bigger gears you really should get the LSD. Doing it now will save you a couple hundred bucks in labour in the end.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I have a 2wd dak with no SL diff. I am sick of the tranny jumping around on me and stuff. So I want the 4.10s to keep my tranny sane. At the moment I can work the $400. And I have a chance to drop that by about $50 by doing some trading. But the $630 is just outa my league right now. I think Il look at having it done in Late july. Thanks guys.
